Anna Vasudevan

I am Anna Vasudevan. I live most of the year in Milford, Ohio, USA, though twice a year I return to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where I was born and raised.

I am a yoga teacher and Yoga Therapist, and I believe my dharma is to serve others through sharing the wisdom and practices that have helped me reconnect with the deeper essence of love, wisdom, and joy.

My spiritual journey began early in life through a deep curiosity about the deeper “why” behind existence. In my early twenties, I began exploring the study of the chakras, theosophy, and meditation. I later joined a Ramana Maharishi meditation group and eventually found the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda, whose practices I have followed for more than thirty years.

In 2018, I discovered the teachings of Anodea Judith. After retiring from the Brazilian Army, I felt called to dedicate myself more deeply to the study and teaching of the chakra system. I was profoundly inspired by Anodea’s wisdom, presence, and energy, and I felt an immediate resonance with the Sacred Centers community and its teachings.

Through the Sacred Centers coursework, I gained a deeper understanding of myself through the chakra system while also learning practical tools that supported my emotional, energetic, and spiritual growth. The work helped me become more aware of my patterns and more capable of transforming them with compassion and awareness.

One practice that particularly stayed with me was the bioenergetic charging work for the Muladhara Chakra. This grounding practice became an important support for regulating my nervous system, helping me feel more centered, stable, and connected to both the earth and myself.

Today, my life and work are deeply rooted in the chakra system. Although the chakras had already been part of my personal path for decades through meditation, Sacred Centers helped me embody this wisdom more fully and translate it into teaching and therapeutic work. As my husband lovingly says, always supportive of my path, “For Anna, everything is chakras.”

I now teach chakra yoga and integrate these teachings into all of my classes, workshops, and therapeutic sessions. My graduation project as a Sacred Centers Chakra Yoga Teacher was an ebook in Portuguese called Pétalas de Luz (Petals of Light), inspired by the chakra journey and my desire to make these teachings more accessible to my Brazilian community.

I am currently publishing a new book in English entitled Stress Alchemy: Turning Stress into Vitality Through the Chakras and the Subtle Layers, which serves as my final project for graduation in the Sacred Centers Healer’s Path. The book weaves together my studies in Yoga Therapy through Integral Yoga, nervous system regulation, meditation, and the Sacred Centers teachings.

This work has also transformed the way I show up for others. By learning to believe more deeply in my own potential, I have become more capable of supporting others in believing in themselves. I believe that when we heal and understand ourselves more deeply, we naturally become more compassionate, present, and available for others.

At this stage of my journey, I feel increasingly invited to soften my heart and deepen spiritually. I believe our essence goes beyond the body and mind, yet the chakra journey helps refine and honor the human experience, creating more space for grace to flow freely through us. I continue to humbly follow the path illuminated by Anodea Judith, striving to become a better instrument of service for my students and community.

My message to others is simple yet heartfelt: believe in yourself. Do not allow the opinions of others to define your worth or your path. Listen deeply to your heart and let it guide your actions.

Right now, I am practicing surrender, trust, and softening the heart.

You can find me on Instagram and Facebook at @annavasudevanyoga, through my website at www.annavasudevanyoga.com or by email at annavasudevanyoga@gmail.com.

Above all, I am deeply grateful for everyone who becomes part of this path and community. Welcome to the rainbow tribe!
